July is not only the height of summer, but also a real hunt for fishermen. For most, this time is associated with heat and relaxation on the beach, but for fishermen it is a month that requires extraordinary skill both day and night. High water temperature, active “blooming” of water bodies and a decrease in oxygen levels force fish to radically change their habits and go to the depths, where it becomes much more difficult to catch them, but for professionals this is only a temporary inconvenience, not a problem.
To return home with the coveted trophy, many fishermen, instead of just sitting on the shore for hours, study the lunar phases and weather conditions in July 2026 in detail and clearly to create their most accurate fishing calendar. Below, we have already done this work for you and are publishing the most accurate fishing forecast for July 2026 .

The influence of the phases of the moon on the bite in July 2026
In short, in July 2026, the monthly cycles of the fish can be conditionally distributed as follows:
- New Moon: July 14 (weakest fish activity).
- Full moon: July 29 (unstable, unpredictable bite).
- First quarter (waxing): July 21.
- Third quarter (descending): July 7.
To better plan your fishing trips, especially at night or in long distances, use our saved-right-now calendar to track the phase of the Moon in July:
The main rule of July: The most stable bite is observed on the waxing moon (especially 3-5 days before the full moon) and at the beginning of the waning phase. On the contrary, on the days of the New Moon, the fish becomes as passive as possible.
Overall rating of days for fishing in July
| Biting level | Auspicious dates | What you should know |
| Excellent bite (Zhor) | 2–5, 19–23, 31 | The fish are actively feeding. A great time for fishing in shallow water is in the morning and at night. |
| Good bite | 1, 6, 17–18, 24–26, 30 | Stable activity, but requires selecting the right bait and top dressing. |
| Weak bite | 7–12, 15–16, 27–28 | Transitional phases. The fish becomes cautious, staying in holes and shade. |
| Bad bite | 13–14, 29 | New Moon and Full Moon. The best time to prepare gear, not to go to the water. |
Detailed calendar by day

July 1 – 6: Stability of the Waning Moon
The first days of the month are characterized by a gradual decrease in the brightness of the disk. This is a great period for hunting large fish.
- July 1–3: The water still maintains an acceptable oxygen balance. Predators – carp, crucian carp and bream – bite well in the evening and night hours. For predators (pike perch, pike) it is better to choose the morning dawn (from 04:00 to 07:00), or night fishing from a boat or speedboat.
- July 4–5: Days of maximum activity in this phase, add bait. The fish eagerly takes animal baits (worm, maggot), but closer to noon it hides in driftwood and algae.
- July 6: The bite is starting to decline, there is no point in going to the pond without bait. It is optimal to use light feeder tackle and vegetable baits (corn, barley) with the addition of sweet flavors (vanilla, strawberry).
July 7 – 14: Approaching the New Moon
A period of energy decline. The activity of underwater inhabitants will decrease with each passing day.
- July 7–9: The third quarter is 50/50 here. The bite becomes very capricious. The fish react only to thin fishing line and miniature hooks. It is better to fish at great depths (from 3-4 meters) from a boat or pier or in the current, where the water is richer in oxygen.
- July 10–12: Weak bite, almost no catch. White fish almost do not move around the reservoir, waiting for the food to swim to it. Success will be brought by spot, fat-rich feeding of one area.
- July 13–14 (New Moon): The worst days of the month. It is better to rest at home. The biorhythms of fish freeze, feeding activity approaches zero. Going to the reservoir on these days is more like a vacation in nature than productive fishing.
July 15 – 23: Waxing Moon and activation
The most promising period is July – mark it on your calendar. The growth of the lunar disk stimulates the metabolism of fish, forcing them to actively search for food.
- July 15–18: The bite is gradually starting to recover, there are many chances even. The predator goes out into shallow water early in the morning to hunt for fry. Surface baits (poppers, walkers) work well.
- July 19–23: Peak of activity (Zhor) – even a beginner can catch it. These are the best days for a targeted trip for trophy carp, grass carp and catfish. Night fishing at this time will bring maximum results. Catfish respond well to a bunch of creepers, frog or liver. White fish willingly respond to voluminous plant baits.
July 24 – 31: From Full Moon to New Decline
- July 24–27: The moon is approaching its full phase. The bite remains good, but becomes finicky. On hot days, the fish bite only until 09:00 in the morning. Dips with sharp flavors (garlic, dill) will come in handy to highlight the bait against the background of the silted bottom. Additional bait will not be superfluous.
- July 28–29 (Full Moon): Critical days – not promising for fishing, only professionals can do it. The full moon introduces an imbalance: the fish is disoriented, often changes the horizons of the parking lot. If you decide to fish, look for a predator on the edges and depth differences. White fish will bite very sluggishly.
- July 30–31: The situation quickly stabilizes, beginners return to the water. A new cycle of active feeding begins. The lunar influence weakens, the weather factor again comes to the fore: if there are no sharp jumps in pressure and strong winds, the catch is guaranteed.
3 tips for July fishing
- Shift your schedule to the night (due to daytime heat): In July, the water gets too hot during the day. Night and pre-dawn fishing (3:00 AM to 8:00 AM) is the only stable time for active fishing.
- Look for coolness and a place for oxygen: Fish at the confluence of streams, springs on the bottom, deep holes, as well as areas of the reservoir that are shaded by large trees for most of the day.
- Reduce the amount of fat in your bait: In warm water, heavy, oily baits quickly turn sour and scare away fish. Use light, fine-grained mixtures that create a “pillar” of turbidity but don’t oversaturate.
