Why was cashback on fuel launched now?

Fuel prices in Ukraine are steadily rising against the backdrop of the ongoing war in Iran and the latter’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Every day, Ukrainians learn from the news that fuel prices are rising again due to the accompanying consequences: expensive logistics bypassing Iran, new taxes starting in 2026, and rising oil prices on the global stock market.

At that time, the Government decided to help drivers and businesses, and from March 2026, a special option in the National Cashback program — cashback on fuel — was launched .

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the state will refund part of the funds for each refueling at participating gas stations. This is temporary support until May 1, 2026 , which is already available to almost 9.4 million Ukrainians who have a National Cashback card .

National Fuel Cashback 2026 is a way to save hundreds of hryvnias every month by refunding a portion (up to 15 percent) of the cost of fuel paid, but not more than 1,000 hryvnias per person per month. This program is especially useful for those who drive a lot or refuel diesel for a generator or equipment, such as shops or cafes near the house.

How much can you actually get back on the national cashback program: calculation examples

Maximum per month: 1,000 UAH for fuel (part of the total program limit of 3,000 UAH). Example: if you fill up 200 liters of diesel per month, you will receive almost 1,740 UAH, but only 1,000 UAH (the limit) will be paid.

Who can get cashback on fuel and basic conditions

• Only individuals – citizens of Ukraine.
• A special National Cashback card is required (opened at partner banks).
• Purchase only at gas stations participating in the program: VOG, OKKO, Ukrnafta, KLO, BRSM, Amik (the list is constantly updated and supplemented).
• Payment is cashless with a National Cashback card directly at the gas station (not through the gas station’s mobile wallet).
• Cashback is not accrued on purchases for businesses, condominiums, or through applications such as “fuel wallet”.

The program works in parallel with regular gas station bonuses – state cashback is accrued additionally.

Step-by-step instructions: how to connect and get cashback on fuel (diesel, gasoline, autogas)

1. Open a National Cashback card through the Diya application or at one of the partner banks (Privat, FUIB, and others).
2. Connect the card to the program : In Action or in your bank’s personal account.
3. Refuel only at participating gas stations : Check the map of gas stations on Google Maps or in the list on the official website ( gas stations participating in the program: VOG, OKKO, Ukrnafta, KLO, BRSM, Amik (the list is constantly updated )).
4. Pay for fuel with your National Cashback card : Receive a fiscal check.
5. Money comes automatically : Cashback is credited the next day and paid out by the end of the next month (for example, gas station in March – money comes in April).

What can you spend cashback on (important!)

Funds cannot be withdrawn in cash . They can only be used non-cash for the following goods:

• Food products
• Utilities
• Ukrainian medicines and medical products
• Books and printed products of Ukrainian production
• Postal services
• Donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

This encourages people to buy Ukrainian products and supports the economy.
