Rejections that didn’t break
At the beginning of the interview, answering a question about the “hype”, the singer recalls how she initially faced the harsh reality of the industry: “The producers said they didn’t want to see me on TV.”
Despite this, she did not give up and continued to constantly develop in her niche and move forward: “I still got up from my knees and kept going.” This experience became for her the foundation of resilience and faith in her own path.
“Underrated singer” such rumors are supposedly spreading online now
According to the interviewer, social media often says that Zlata is “the most underrated artist.” However, because of the path the singer has taken, she herself disagrees with this.
The reason, according to her, is simple: she doesn’t play by the rules of hype and doesn’t create scandals, doesn’t build a career on intrigue and doesn’t agree to artificial stories. For example, she was even offered a fictitious romance for popularity with a Ukrainian showbiz star, but she refused, because as she herself says:
“I didn’t want to break myself and go against my nature.”
Finding yourself in music
The singer admits that throughout her career she experimented with styles: she tried singing simple folk songs and tested “mass” formats.
But from my own experience I understood an important thing: “It’s not mine if I don’t believe in myself.”
Problems of music education in Ukraine as a separate topic
Ognevich is critical of the system of training singers in Ukraine. According to her, the problem lies in the fact that outdated methods are still used in training, there is no modern approach, and there is a large gap between education and the reality of the stage.
At the same time, she sees changes only through the arrival of a new generation, which, in her opinion, “will be changed by our new generation.”
The singer herself plans to contribute to the education of young talented artists in Ukraine by conducting master classes, teaching modern techniques, and sharing knowledge with students who are not given it in universities.
Teaching and personal experience
Zlata claims that she already has teaching experience. And she even recalls a funny moment when one of the students fell in love with her, so she had to say goodbye to him.
Today, she emphasizes that education is changing for those who want to grow and develop:
- online courses are emerging;
- master classes around the world.

Opera Way

Although the singer has performed opera on the big stage of Europe, although she has never studied academic vocals professionally and she clearly realizes for herself that she does not want to be an opera singer,
This once again confirms her independence in choosing a career.
Personal life and bad relationship experiences
Zlata does not disclose details of her personal life on principle, this is how she explained her position on this issue in an interview:
“My significant other has the right to privacy.”
She is also not against new relationships as such, but is convinced that:
“Two artists under one roof is unreal.”
Difficult relationships from the past
The singer frankly talks about 2 difficult stories from previous relationships.
The first of which was student love during her student years, which included a painful breakup and her ex’s longing for her. Her ex had a hard time dealing with the breakup and even spent the night on a bench under the windows.
Relationship with a man who worked in Thailand . The singer first convinced him to return to Ukraine. After that, she fully supported him financially, including paying utilities, an apartment, and even personal belongings for her lover. At the same time, the partner refused to work and criticized Zlata for coming home from work late, not cooking for him, and spending a lot of money.
“I paid for everything myself… and he said he was made for intellectual work.”
This relationship lasted three years and became an important life lesson for the singer.
A look at motherhood
Zlata is honest about her position on children, she is definitely not childfree , but she does not want or plan to have children at the moment. And she supports the idea of a woman’s right to decide for herself what to do with her own body.
“Give me the freedom to control my own body,” says the singer
She used to have a fear of pregnancy, but she worked through it. Medically, she says, everything is fine, but psychologically she is not ready yet.

Self-care: an honest answer
The singer does not idealize, but openly emphasizes that good self-care is, first and foremost, having enough resources.
“I just have the money to take care of myself.”
But he adds important components that are not related to material wealth: discipline in nutrition and habits, regular exercise, quality sleep, and constant care from a beautician.
The singer allows alcohol to a minimum. According to her, the maximum is 2 bottles of dry wine with good company of friends.
The music video scandal
An unexpected situation arose in the video for “I Give It Away.” Because the star’s two nipples were visible in the clip, YouTube’s algorithms blocked the video, and she had to re-upload the video and cut out this fragment.
According to her, this only shows her inner feminine energy, and how even small things can affect the restrictions on product distribution compared to other Western artists such as Nicki Minaj and Cardi B.
Internal transformations
Zlata talks about her mental development as a person and harmony with her soul. I used to be on low vibrations… and then accordingly you attract people like yourself.
Now the singer feels stronger and more confident on new powerful waves. She also emphasizes:
The world loves manifestation and the world loves aggression – when you can stand up for yourself, for your ideals, for your personality.
Conflicts in show business
Olya Polyakova and Efrosinina called her song “shit,” which was shocking and very unpleasant for the artist. But the singer explains this by their “wisdom and level of intelligence.”
An unpleasant moment was the criticism from Olya Polyakova and Masha Efrosininina, ostensibly because of Zlata’s emotional publication at the beginning of the full-scale one in 2022.
They called her song sharply negative, which came as a shock to the artist. However, she did not react in any way, explaining it by their vision and experience.
Faith and esotericism
The singer admits that she believes in esotericism.
I believe in the soul and esotericism because there were frequent cases after which my skepticism was completely wiped out.
After several events, her worldview changed, and she herself began to believe in the soul and became deeply interested in esotericism.
Theater and new challenges
Ognevich also tries herself as an actress, playing in the theater. She even received invitations from Taras Tsymbalyuk several times . However, after refusing to participate in performances several times, she was finally persuaded.
The hardest moment in life
One of the strongest parts of the interview is about the singer’s depression. When there was a period of deep loss of meaning in her life with thoughts of suicide.
“I just stopped seeing the meaning in life.”
She was saved from misfortune by the thought of the pain and suffering of her loved ones. The singer learns that at times only the fear of causing them pain and mental anguish stopped her, after realizing the consequences in a moment and regained her desire for life.
I was in the stage of deep, prolonged depression.
If you find yourself having such thoughts, think about your loved ones and their grief, how painful and difficult it must be for them.
But the moment I realized what the consequences could be, I was happy that I didn’t do it and started living a new, beautiful life.
A book that made an impact at a difficult time
Zlata advises everyone to read “Letters to Lucilius” by Seneca.
This book helps:
- rethink life anew;
- find inner support if other methods don’t work;
- better understand yourself and your desires.
Conclusion
The story of the artist Zlata Ognevich is definitely not about easy success. In this line of life there are both rejections and struggles, difficult relationships and internal crises. The main thing, according to the singer, is to have the honor to be honest with yourself and prioritize your desires, not ideas imposed by others. This is what makes her unique in the Ukrainian segment of show business.
