July in the city of Lviv is not only the hottest month, but also a special time for celebrations: weddings, name days, christenings, gender parties and other festive events. While the south and east of Ukraine suffer from the exhausting heat, Lviv offers a somewhat milder, more comfortable, but at the same time very capricious climate. Climate analysis: what to prepare for in Lviv?
As you can see from our summary table above, July 2026 in Lviv will be a contrasting month. This is a typical Western Ukrainian summer weather pattern where “the sun shines and the rain falls,” so be prepared for hot sunny days to quickly give way to refreshing showers, and then sunny again an hour later.
Temperature swings
The greatest drop in temperature is expected on July 8–9 . After a warm +29°C, the thermometer may drop sharply to +22°C…+23°C during the day. The night temperature will drop to +13°C during these days. However, the cooling will be short-lived, and by the middle of the month the real heat will return to the city. The peak temperatures will fall at the equator of the month — on July 16–17, the air will warm up to +30°C.

Lviv precipitation
According to statistics, July in Lviv is often the wettest month of the year. In 2026, precipitation will be unevenly distributed. The main thunderstorm days will fall on:
- July 3 and 12 — light, short-term rains.
- July 8 and 18 — powerful storm fronts with showers and gusty winds.
The second half of the month (from the 20th) promises to be much drier and more stable, with plenty of clear days.
Tip for tourists: When planning a trip to Lviv in July, apply the rule of layering in clothing. Even if the sun is scorching hot during the day up to +28°C, evenings on the cobblestones can be cool (+14°C…+15°C). A light jacket, comfortable shoes (that don’t slip on wet cobblestones) and a compact umbrella in your backpack are your must-haves in your tourist backpack and the main items for a comfortable stay in the capital of Galicia.
