The process of renewing and issuing a deferment from mobilization is constantly changing and becoming more and more digitalized. For many citizens of Ukraine, it has become a familiar procedure to go to the CCC every 3 months and stand in line for several hours to resubmit the same documents with an application for a deferment, however, since 2026 the procedure has become much simpler: now it is not necessary to collect packages of documents and stand in lines every time.
We are figuring out for which categories of military conscripts the automatic extension of deferment is currently in effect , and how it works for the documents of those who applied for deferment through the “Reserve+” application or administrative service centers (ASC).

How does auto-extension of deferral actually work?
The main advantage of the innovation is that the automatic extension of the deferrals provided for by the law on mobilization ( Article 23 of the Law ), issued both through the “Reserve+” application and through the Central Service Center, occurs without you, only by verifying data from electronic registers. The system not only automatically pulls data from state registers, eliminating the need to re-confirm your status manually, but also automatically enters a notice of the deferral into Oberig (which will later be reflected in the Reserve+ application , which pulls information from the register of conscripts, military conscripts and reservists “Oberig”) if the circumstances have not changed.
22 categories for which the deferral is automatically extended
For convenience, our editorial team has divided them into separate related groups and subgroups. Check yourself whether your reasons are in this exhaustive list, if so, then don’t worry, the CCC will extend your deferral automatically without a visit and re-submission of documents.
Due to health or disability
Automatic extension is provided for individuals who have health problems, namely:
- People with disabilities (all groups I, II, III).
- Persons recognized as temporarily unfit for military service according to the conclusion of the Military Medical Council due to health conditions.
Parents and guardians of children
The state automatically extends the deferral for citizens who are responsible for children in difficult life circumstances, namely:
- Parents of a child with a disability under the age of 18.
- Parents of an adult child (over 18 years old) who has a disability of group I or II.
- Parents raising a seriously ill child who is not diagnosed with a disability.
- Parents of three or more children .
- Parents who are raising a child under the age of 18 on their own .
- Women and men of military service who have a child .
Caring for sick relatives or spouse

If you are a caregiver, your “deferred to” status is also updated automatically:
- Those who have a wife or husband with a disability of group I or II.
- Those who have a wife or husband with a disability of group III.
- Citizens who have relatives (or father/mother of the spouse) with disabilities of group I or II.
- Individuals who provide constant care for a seriously ill family member.
- Guardians of a person who has been declared legally incompetent.
- People who are caring for a 2nd or 3rd degree relative with a disability.
Education seekers
For those who study or teach others, an automatic extension of the deferral is provided based on the EDEBO, namely for:
- Students and postgraduates studying full-time or dual-study.
- Employees of higher and professional (vocational and technical) education institutions.
- Teachers of secondary schools.
War victims, prisoners of war and relatives of Heroes
Special categories of citizens:
- People whose close relatives died or went missing during hostilities or martial law.
- Relatives of the Heroes of Ukraine who were awarded posthumously for their courage during the Revolution of Dignity.
- Persons who were deprived of their liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine.
- Military personnel who were released from enemy captivity.
- Individuals aged 18–25 who have resigned after completing a one-year contract.
What if your category is not listed?
If your reason for deferral does not fall under any of the above 22 categories, or the registers do not contain up-to-date information about you, you will have to update your data and submit supporting documents according to the standard procedure through the ASC.
Our advice: Regularly check the status of your deferral in the “Reserve+” application to avoid surprises. Sometimes, after a system update, the deferral “flies away” or requires re-submission of the application in Reserve+.
