Support for veterans’ businesses and the new status of “veteran business” – what is the Government preparing?

Today, the Department of Information and Public Communications of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine published news that on April 23, 2026, the Government is strengthening support for veteran entrepreneurship .

New changes for veteran entrepreneurship

The Government of Ukraine has adopted new changes by its decision, which are designed to expand the implementation of employment opportunities for veterans and war veterans, as well as separately strengthen support for veteran entrepreneurship in Ukraine.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko: “We are improving the mechanism for obtaining the special status of ‘veteran business’,” the head noted.

What this will be in detail has not yet been revealed, we expect news later, but it is already known that it will be possible to submit an application online through the “Diya” portal . And all decisions, including those on the acquisition, termination or renewal of the “veteran business ” status, will be recorded automatically in the Unified State Register of War Veterans .

What benefits are being prepared for veteran businesses?

This status will not be just formal, but will give real privileges. Specifically, by opening access to state financial support in the form of funds, namely through the procedure for issuing grants, opening and financing individual programs, as well as preferential mechanisms for businesses initiated by veterans of the war in Ukraine.

Yulia Svyridenko also emphasized other tools “to stimulate business development,” but details are not yet disclosed.
